LEEM provides Locational Marginal Emissions (LME) information for 18 states* serviced by three organizations that manage electricity and supply and demand: MISO, PJM, and NYISO.

To see recent outputs of Day-Ahead and Real Time LMEs that apply to your area, please:

1. Type in your City, State (e.g. Detroit, MI) and then indicate if you wish to see Day Ahead or Real Time LME information. Then press the “Search” button.
2. Scroll below the map and press the “Submit” button.
3. Please wait a minute for LME data over the prior 3 days as carbon and mercury output is generated.

You will see that LME information can vary considerably over time, with distinct periods of high and low emission intensities.

* LEEM currently provides marginal emissions data for electricity users in the following states: Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
